Happy New Year Everyone!!

Hi everyone,
Well its hard to believe that another year has come and gone. A lot has happened over the year some really good and some not so good. Right now my son is back in Kandahar but at least he got home for Christmas! For that I am thankful.
I will be on holiday for a month and will likely not be posting, not that I am that punctual anyway. I do hope to get organized this year for doing shows and getting a lot of claying done. I dont usually make resolutions but this year I think that would be a good one.
So have a great New Years and I will see you soon.

Shows and claying finished for 2009

I had a good year doing shows and with clay. I did'nt do as many as I had wanted to but it worked out much better than I had hoped. I was so pleased to have been invited to have my jewellery at The Lindsay Art Gallery, they are such gracious , helpful people . I was invited back for the members show which ends December 18.
I am really not quite finished with clay for 2009 as I want to make some pendants for Christmas gifts. I have some already cooked , I just have to put them together.

We have had a major snow storm that dumped over 121 centimeters of snow on our little community. Dh has been shoveling and snowblowing steadily for 2 days. We could hardly open our door to get out. I havent seen the squirrels for 3 days, they usually come around to be fed at least once a day. I am going to try and post some pictures of the snowstorm and of some of my new jewellery,
Have a wonderful holiday season!!!!!!

New Show

Hi
I have been so busy lately and not just with clay. We have had a lot of company which we really enjoy and then I have had a show Art in the Village. This is to raise money for the health unit. We had more people attending this year but the sales were'nt very good. However I met this lovely lady who invited me to exhibit and sell at The Lindsay Gallery for a month. I could not believe it!!!!!!! And I had only 4 days to get ready for it. I have been claying day and night for 4 days. So today I took my wares to the Gallery and was interviewed by 2 newspaper reporters and had lots of pictures taken. Even though my knees were a tad shaky it all went well. I must say I am very tired but I do have to get more clay ready to go. So I will take a day to recuperate and then get busy again. Life is good! I am going to post a few pictures, I hope you enjoy.

Sam

Hi everyone,
Well this week has been a very sad week for me. My cat, best buddy, friend of 16 years died on Tues very suddenly. I am really still in shock , I cannot believe that he is gone, just like that.
He was not that sick, he was on medication for thyroid but seemed to be doing well. Although his appetite had declined somewhat, but then he wasnt that young anymore even though he looked good. We were together 24-7 so we were always together, he was left alone very seldom. He was there when I got up in the morning, accompanying me into the bathroom and sitting on the sink watching me brush me teeth Then on to breakfast where he always got fed first. He would then go my studio where he had a nap on his cushion on my worktable. We were never far apart , in the evening he would sit on my legs till bedtime. Everywhere I look I still see him and hear him. I cannot believe he is gone forever. Farewell my best buddy.

Home for a bit

Hi everyone,

Well I am home for a few days and then I go to my son's for mother's day. We started out our traveling with a stint of babysitting dh's granddaughter for a week. From Sun to Fri. She was amazing!! We went to the zoo twice, she just loves it there, too bad the childrens park isnt open yet.

I went to Morrisburg for our annual conference on Thur and left dh to handle things. He did a great job. Morrisburg is from Thur. to Sun. We had some really early days while babysitting and we started our days at Morrisburg really early too. What a great time we had!!! Great classes, great teachers, and great seeing old friends again as well as meeting new ones.
I met Sandy's mom who is such a talented lady, she makes wonderful flowers. I am already looking forward to next year.

I came away with a lot of great ideas for my jewelery, a lot of surface techniques, now all I have to do is get at it. I will post some photos as soon as I can, havent taken any yet of the things that I made. Needless to say I am kind of tired right now but hopefully will catch up with some sleep soon.
Better get back to work.

Wonderful Easter weekend!

Hi
We had a wonderful Easter with G's son's family , hope everyone else had a wonderful one too. Had a great Easter Egg hunt outside even though it was freezing! I spent time claying with our little granddaughter. She just loves to create and she is quite good with her colors.
I am still working on three ladies, I have one almost dressed , just cant figure out what to do with the others yet. I wanted to go bright but it didnt turn out that way. I want to finish these ladies before I get into making beads and jewellery. I am getting short on stock for the Artisan's Marketplace so I had better get busy.
I will be going to Morrisburg in a couple of weeks for our annual get together. I am so looking forward to claying for the weekend!!!

Back again

Hi everyone,
Well I havent posted for a very long time but I am back to try it again. I seem to be as busy as a cat on a hot tin roof but have nothing to show for it. I am trying to get organized for 2009, I applied to a few shows and hope to get accepted in at least a few. I do think that this year will be quite a struggle to sell. People are going to be hanging on to their money.

This year I will become a great- grandmother, that's awesome. Cant figure out how my granddaughter got that old! Now to figure out what to make for the new little person. I will have to do something in clay but I am not sure what to do.
This year I would like to try my hand at teaching but just havent worked up the courage for that so far.
Tomorrow I am going shopping for some containers for my studio, the ones you get in Canadian Tire, they are for nuts and bolts. I think they will be great for holding my findings and maybe even some canes.
Have to go now, hopefully I will be back sooner than last time.
